Emberville Classes, Skill Inheritance and the 6 Core Attributes

On this page

How Emberville classes unlock

Instead of picking a class at the start, you unlock classes by hitting milestones while using a weapon or armor type. Once a class is unlocked you can switch to it freely, and each class has its own skill tree, according to the studio’s dev journal.

The studio plans 13 classes and 16 weapon categories. Class names have not been published, so any class tier list today is guesswork. Previews do show class perks: IGN picked the Wanderer class perk for a stronger strike.

Skill inheritance between classes

Steam’s description says classes can be changed at any time and can inherit passive and active skills from other classes you have learned. That is how builds mix classes: take a skill from one class into another.

Emberville Game Wiki’s summary of the studio’s August 2025 Q&A adds two details: inheritance slots open as your character levels up, and a class ultimate can never be inherited. Treat both as pre-release design notes until Early Access.

The 6 core attributes

Each character level-up gives 2 stat points. The effects below come from Mobalytics’ hands-on with the September 2026 preview build; per-point numbers were not shown.

Three kinds of progression

  • Character level: classic XP from fights and quests; each level gives 2 stat points.
  • Weapon masteries: each weapon type levels on its own as you use it, unlocking combos and bonuses (full skill tables).
  • Classes: unlocked by milestones, switchable at any time, each with its own skill tree.

Stat pairings from the published weapon bonuses

No class builds have been published yet. These pairings follow only from the weapon bonuses in the preview build and the attribute effects above; values may change in Early Access.
